Add WCPL Online Catalog to Your Web Browser's Search Provider List

If you have IE7 or IE8 you can add WCPL's Online Catalog as one of your search providers.

1. Copy the URL below
http://welc.ent.sirsi.net/client/embedded.search/http://welc.net.sirsi.net/client/wcpl?ln=en_US&q=TEST

2. Go to the Add Search Providers to Internet Explorer page.  On the right hand side in the Create Your Own box, paste the URL you copied above in step #3.

3. In step #4 type a short description such as WCPL Online Catalog Search.

4. Click the Install Button.

5. When asked if you would like to add this search provider click the Add button to complete.

What is a bookmarklet? 

A bookmarklet is an applet, a small computer application, stored as the URL of a bookmark in a web browser or as a hyperlink on a web page.  Basically, our bookmarklet will allow you to search our online catalog for highlighted words on a webpage.

What do I need to do to begin using WCPL's bookmarklet?

Simply add our bookmarklet to your Favorites or Bookmarks.

Internet Explorer

Right click this link Search WCPL's Online Catalog then click Add to Favorites...

Mozilla Firefox

Right click this link Search WCPL's Online Catalog then click Bookmark this Link...

How do I use WCPL's bookmarklet?

1. Be sure your browser has JavaScript enabled.

2. While on a website, highlight text you would like to search for in our online catalog.  This text can be a search term, book title, ISBN number, etc.

3. Go to Favorites (if using Internet Explorer) or Bookmarks (if using Firefox) and select Search WCPL's Online Catalog.

4. The bookmarklet will search the library's catalog for your search term and display the results of your search.

5. If you find an item of interest in the library's catalog you can place a hold using your library card number and PIN.
