What is
the library's online catalog?
An
online catalog is the library's catalog in the form of an electronic
database. Long gone are the days of the old card catalogs.
Everything is now easily accessible and searchable via any computer
with internet access. You can also access your personal
library account, place holds, and renew checked out items all
through the online catalog.
Logging into the online
catalog allows you to renew your checked out items, place
holds on items in the catalog, review your library account,
and review your personal information.
- Go
to the online catalog at
http://welc.ent.sirsi.net/client/
-
Click
Log In

- Enter your library card
number without spaces or dashes. Enter your PIN (Personal
Identification Number) that was assigned to you by the library.
If you do not know your PIN, you will need to come into the library
and a staff member will give you this information.

NOTE: You may enter your Alt ID (alternate ID)
number in place of your library card number. If you would like
an Alt ID number for your account ask the library front desk staff
to create one for your account the next time you are at the library.
-
Once you are logged in go to My
Account to renew your checked out items, review your library
account and update your personal information.
Please remember to log out when
you are finished. Need help
finding your way around the online catalog? Access "Help" at
any time by clicking the question mark in the upper right hand
corner.

search our online catalog. It is that easy!
How do
I begin searching the online catalog?
Simply
type a word or phrase in the search box provided on our website.
When you press the Go button a search through our online catalog
begins. Your search will search all words throughout the item
record resulting in many hits. You can narrow your search results with
the options on the left side of the page. Once you find what
you are looking for click on the item title for detailed

How do
I limit my search to a specific type of item (book, magazine,
movie)?
Searching
for a specific type of item has never been easier. If, for
example, I would like an instructional video on how to use a
computer I might begin my search by typing "how to use a computer"
in the search box provided on our website This will
bring up many results. On the left side of the page there are
options to limit my search results. Because I am only looking
for videos relevant to my search I will select Video Disk.
My hit list now only shows items available on Video Disk (DVD).
How do
I see a list of new items?
Click on
New Book Alerts to see a list of new items in the library.
You can also subscribe to receive emails and/or RSS feeds notifying

search have to be spelled correctly?
No!
The online catalog uses "fuzzy search" technology which will bring
up information likely to be relevant to what you are looking for.
How do
I place a hold on an item?
Click the
Place Hold(s) button next to the item.

How do I search for a series?
If you
know the name of the series, enter the series name in the search
box. For example, to search for books in the Millennium series
type "Millennium series" as the search term.
For more
series information click on the item detail and select Novelist
Content. Novelist Content will display showing you the books
in series in order as well as similar titles/authors.

I know what book is next in a series?
If you
know one of the books in a series do a search for that title the
online catalog. View the details of the title and click on
the Novelist Content link. Novelist Content will display
listing the books in series in series order.
