National Library Week
The Wells County Public Library joins libraries in schools, campuses, and communities nationwide in celebrating National Library Week from April 13-19 with a “Lives Change @ Your Library” theme.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and is a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers.
To help celebrate there will be several events and activities at both the Main Library in Bluffton and at the Ossian Branch.
Then and Now Displays @ Bluffton & Ossian
Throughout the week check out the “Then and Now” display to see how the library has changed over the years and the different mobile services the library has offered, from the bookmobile to online resources currently available on the library’s website and via mobile apps. You can also see a special “Milestone” display at the Main Library that will highlight favorite books from staff and volunteers that are celebrating milestones with the library.
Bluffton: April 14: 3-6 pm
Stop by this info booth to learn about library-related apps for checking out eBooks, renewing library books, placing holds, learning a foreign language, and more. If you already have a library-related app on your smart phone or tablet, show us at the table for a prize. You can see a complete list of apps on the Library Mobile Apps page.
Wacky Wheel Wednesday
Bluffton & Ossian: April 16
When you check out materials, spin the wheel or drop a “disk” for a special prize. Win candy, free movie rentals, t-shirts, and more.
“Be a Friend” Thursday
