Random Acts of Kindness
For Random Acts of Kindness Week, the Library is collecting money to purchase books for Kate's Kart. This organization provides books to children in the emergency room or hospital. Our books will go specifically to Bluffton Regional Hospital. If you're in either building and have spare change, help us by "feeding the duck." You can watch the coins trickle down the duck's long neck. Then fill out a helping hand and add it to our display.
In addition to collecting money, one lucky guest at each building is randomly given a $2 credit on his card each day. Then he can pass the kindness on by selecting another library card holder to receive a $2 credit. Happy Random Acts of Kindness! We hope you will take this week to practice your own acts of kindness.

(In fact, I received my first library paycheck before my driver’s license!) I’m also a “minor celebrity” to the kids in Ossian because I read books to the preschoolers and kindergartners each month. I've written two books for librarians with ideas for storytime and have taught workshops on the topic around the country.
