Old Bluffton Cemetery
Location: On North Oak Street Ext. north of Wabash Avenue in Bluffton, Lancaster Township, Wells County, Indiana.
The original introduction states “Known always as the Old Bluffton Cemetery, it is no longer in use. Markers for war veterans of government issue do not bear birth or death dates. The last burial was in 1918. Data was compiled by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Minniear, members of the Wells County Historical Society.”
The original introduction states the last burial was in 1918 but records show later burials. This cemetery was plotted in 1841 by Sylvanus Church. The Evening News in 1901 listed several people who were removed to the Fairview Cemetery. The cemetery had been cleaned-up several years ago but was allowed to become overgrown again. Due to the condition of the cemetery and the stones, this cemetery was not walked.
