Old St. Paul Cemetery
Wells County, Rock Creek Township, Indiana
Location: On County Road 300 N east of County Road 200 W in Rock Creek Township, Wells County, Indiana.
The original introduction states “Older residents of this area cannot recall any other name for this except the Old Cemetery. It lies across the road from the Saint Paul Lutheran Church and Saint Paul Cemetery. The first burial here was that of Jonathan Decker in 1846. Data was submitted by Mr. Homer Bayless, member of the Wells County Historical Society.”
J. Christian and V. Tester walked this cemetery during the summer of 2000. In trying to find information on this cemetery no records seem to be in existence. The cemetery has a wrought iron fence in one corner that appears to be a Miller family plot. C. McAfee said in 1999 that he is unaware of any records for this cemetery. C. Sellers comments in a letter to C. Brubaker that “OLD ST PAUL CEMETERY (as the family & the obits refer to it)” Old Rock Creek is another name used when referring to this cemetery.
