Old Salem Cemetery
Kreps Cemetery
Location: On County Road 700 E south of State Road 218 in Nottingham Township, Wells County, Indiana.
The original introduction states “Once known as Kreps Cemetery because of it’s location near the small hamlet of Kreps which is no longer in existence and because it was established on land once owned by the Kreps family. After the erection of the Old Salem Church directly in front of the cemetery the name automatically was changed to Old Salem Cemetery. The first person buried here was Sarah Lindsay in 1844. Data was compiled by Mr. Hugh Cobb and Mr. Clarence Minniear.”
S. Dailey walked this cemetery in 1999.
L. Dubach brought in a copy of his information in July of 1999. We incorporated the information into this revised edition.
