Snow Cemetery
Location: On County Road 475 W and south of 800 S in Chester Township, Wells County, Indiana.
The original introduction
states “Snow Cemetery lies in the northwestern part of section #17.
The ground was originally owned by John and Susanna Gruver. Julia Snow
was the first person buried here in 1845. Later
Sewell Snow purchased this farm from the Gruver family and a part was reserved
as a public burial ground. More
land was added to the cemetery later by Mr. & Mrs. Lyman Zehner. In 1923 an association was formed and it became officially
known as Snow Cemetery. Data was
submitted by Mrs. Opal Bell Blevins, member of the Wells County Historical
Society.”
