Snow Cemetery

Location: On County Road 475 W and south of 800 S in Chester Township, Wells County, Indiana.

The original introduction states “Snow Cemetery lies in the northwestern part of section #17.  The ground was originally owned by John and Susanna Gruver. Julia Snow was the first person buried here in 1845.  Later Sewell Snow purchased this farm from the Gruver family and a part was reserved as a public burial ground.  More land was added to the cemetery later by Mr. & Mrs. Lyman Zehner.  In 1923 an association was formed and it became officially known as Snow Cemetery.  Data was submitted by Mrs. Opal Bell Blevins, member of the Wells County Historical Society.”
