Summer Programming

This year, if you attend or participate in any of these special programs, you may substitute ONE of them for one Summer Reading Program item.  If you attend the water Gardens program, you may use it for the required item.

Fort Wayne Children's Zoo: The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is bringing some water-loving animals to visit with children at the library on Tuesday, June 15 at 6:30 p.m.  The entire family will love this Make a Splash Summer Reading Program adventure with turtles, frogs, snakes and other water critters.  The program is free but pre-registration is required.  Sign up online or call 260-824-1612.  Don't wait!  this even will fill up quickly!

Water Gardening Workshop with Steve Gerber: Discover Water gardening with Steve Gerber of Outdoor concepts on Monday, June 28 at 7 p.m.  Learn how to create a water garden and then ask any landscaping question.  The workshop is free and open to the public.

10 Families to Compete in Parking Lot Sand Sculpture Contest: Does your family have what it takes?  Ten families will compete in our Family Sand Sculpture Contest on Monday, July 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the west parking lot.  The first 10 eligible teams to register will have 1 1/2 hours to build their sculpture while spectators cheer them on.  Judging is at 7:30 p.m.  To be eligible, each team must have at least one parent or grandparent and one related child.  No more than six people on a team.  A list of rules will be available when registration begins.  Watch online at www.wellscolibrary.org and on the outdoor marquee for the opening date of registration contestants.  This event will be lost of fun for participants AND spectators.  Don't miss it!
