The Question of the Week

Earn free candy and other prizes just for answering one little question!  What a deal!  Each week a new question is posted and all you have to do is find the answer in the book provided.  So make sure you stop by the YA desk each week to do The Question of the Week.  (Open to all teens ages 12-18.  Must show library card to participate.)

Manga Club

This group is open to any teen, age 12-18, who likes Manga.  The club meets at 6:00 PM on the first Monday of every month to discuss the latest Manga books, draw, trade cards and just have fun.

TAB. (Teen Advisory Board)

This group meets the last Tuesday of every month from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM to make decisions about book and magazine library purchases for teens and what kinds of teen programs to provide.

Wii Game Days

Open to any teen, 12-18, with a library card in good standing.  Time to play must be earned.  Please see the flyer available at the YA Desk for more information on play dates and ways to earn play time.

Teen Berets

Open to any teen, grade 6-12.  The Teen Berets meet the last Thursday of the month from 6:00-7:30.  They meet to do an activity together and socialize.  The activities are decided by the group and announced in advanced.  Feel free to drop by if one of the events sounds appealing.

Monthly Movie

A different movie is shown for free in the Main Library's meeting room for each month.  The movie that will be shown is listed on flyers found throughout the library.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The YA department averages one program each month in addition to its regular programs.  These programs vary in content and meet on a flexible schedule.  Past programs have included Tie Dying, Yuck Night, Taste Test Night, and Library Survivor.  These programs are advertised in the library newsletter and on flyers around the building.

Annual Programs

Winter Reading Program

Held each year during the month of February, teens have yet another opportunity to win free books by completing a reading log.

Summer Reading Program

One of our most popular programs!  Earn tickets by reading and then use those tickets for chances to win prizes throughout the summer.  For everyone who completes the program, there is a party at the end of the summer with plenty of food and fun!  Register during the month of June.

Teen Read Week

Celebrate Teen Read Week at the library during the month of October.  There are always lots of fun activities planned and all teens are welcome.
