Location: On Jeff Road east of County Road 700 W in Jackson Township, Wells County, Indiana.
The
original introduction states “The Tomlinson Cemetery, once known as Wright and
once known as Underwood, was first established when a fur trapper and a
part-time laborer for the Wright family was buried on their farm. His identity
and data are unknown. The next burial was Harriet Mason in 1839. Data was
compiled by Mr. and Mrs. Carlin Schoeff, members of the Wells County Historical
Society.”

states in the history of Jackson Township “Early Settler Listed.
Nathaniel Batson, John Jones, and Daniel Jones arrived in 1836 and
located near the present site of Batson bridge on state road 3…In the latter
part of 1836 and during 1837-38 …On the north side of the river was Henry
Huffman, Phillip Roush, Henry Wolfgang, Sampson Richards, Jacob Clingenpeel,
Andrew Morrison, Truman Lounsbury, Chris Miller, George Colbert, and Sam
Batson…south side of the river David Miller, Zebulon Swaim, Henry Wright,
Elijah Graves, Jack Perfect, William McIntire, Richard McIntire, James Turner,
William Tomlinson, Amos Alspach, Jonathan Lee, Bowen Thorp, Robert Alexander,
William Rea Sr., John McFadden, Reason Beavington, Burket Elkins, Samuel Palmer,
John Booher Sr., John Baker Sr., William Burkland and Joel Ebersole.
